iMED health insurance information at this site (including enrolment periods, coverage details, claims and emergency assistance contacts, opting out process, advance coverage, coverage extensions, family coverage, etc.)  is not applicable for international students whose first UBC term will be Winter Term 1 2026 or later.  Starting with Winter Term 1 2026, UBC will enroll international students under a different health insurance plan with a new insurance provider, serviced by a new claims & assistance administrator.

UBC will publish information about their new international student health plan in the UBC International Student Guide.  UBC’s international student advising team are receiving inquiries about the new plan at international.house@ubc.ca.
